Join me for the InSeries rendition (modernized - updated) of Mozart's Don Giovanni set in 1920's mid-west America with an Elmer Gantry style preacher in the title role. The Commendatore is now the "Pastor" whose demise outside his traveling revival tent leads to the sinner's fatal consequences.

Performances are March 14, 15, 21, 22, 23. Go to InSeries.org for more info and tickets.

     Walt Whitman in Song

Soprano Fleta Hylton, piano accompanist Robert Boguslaw and I will be giving a recital of songs with texts by Walt Whitman, the great American poet and Washington DC resident for ten years.

This will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Arts Club of Washington, 2017 "I" St., NW, the historic Monroe House.

Featured are selections from Thomas Beveridge's cycle, "Leaves of Grass", performed only once before.

I will also be doing Ned Rorem's "War Scenes", premiered at DC's Constitution Hall 46 years ago.

Fleta will be singing the east coast premiere of Three Whitman Songs by Stefan Cwik, a west coast composer. She will also do Three Poems by Ralph Vaughn Williams.

A reception will follow the recital.
